Search Engine Marketing – Why Search Engine Marketing Is a Good Strategy

There are many marketing strategies including networking, TV advertising and search engine marketing today I'm going to explain why search engine marketing is the best one. http://media.photobucket.com/user/johnlaw827/media/Optimizarseo_zpsd1c4417c.jpg.html 1. Book advertising such as Yellow Pages book is now an online site.Today book advertising such as Yellow Pages have shifted their focus to online and they use Google to increase their website traffic via organic and paid adverting. I have many times seen their ad on Google, Yahoo and Bing. Simply not many people are using the good old book any more. If you look at this book over the last ten years you will see that this book is becoming smaller and smaller due to lack of advertising. I have listed my business on this book and I have not received any enquiry from this source yet. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Fake Irs Email Scam ? Underreported Income

If there is one agency everyone responds to, it is the IRS. Scammers know this and have developed a host of campaigns using the name of the agency to sucker taxpayers into releasing information. A new email scam uses the threat of underreported income to get consumers to download a malicious file. The IRS has been trumpeting its efforts to close the tax gap. Depending on the year, the agency estimates that between $300 and $450 billion dollars in tax revenue goes uncollected. One of the primary reasons is the underreporting of income by taxpayers. The email scam currently circulating uses this issue as its basis. The scam comes to your email box from a purported IRS email address. The subject line of the email states ?unreported/underreported income [Fraud Application]?. The body of the email then states that you?ve underreported income and refers to a unidentified part of your recent tax return which is supposedly attached to the email. You are then supposed to download the attachment to verify it. As you can probably already guess, the download is a malicious file. The IRS has come a long way when it comes to the digital age. That being said, the agency is very old school when it comes to dealing with taxpayer issues. By this, I mean that the agency never sends notices of action to taxpayers by email. Everything is sent by snail mail with most of the notices automatically being kicked out by a computer. If you ever get an email from the IRS, you can usually assume it is a fake. If you have any doubts as to its legitimacy, you can just pick up the phone and call the IRS to [...]

New Google Chrome Flash limitations will exacerbate ad viewability concerns

{elcr} The feature makes a determination as to whether Flash content is 'central to the webpage'. If it is, the Flash content will be displayed normally. If it isn't, Chrome will pause the display of the Flash content. Should the Chrome feature interrupt the display of desired content, users can click to resume. According to Google, pausing extraneous Flash content "significantly reduces power consumption [on laptops] allowing you to surf the web longer before having to hunt for a power outlet." While potentially good news for laptop users, Google's update to Chrome, which is now enabled by default in the latest desktop Beta channel release of Chrome, could be bad news for advertisers already struggling to address concerns over the viewability of their ads. While Flash's popularity has waned, some animated display ads still rely on Flash, and Flash is still often used to deliver video content. It seems that Flash ads are likely to fall under the content that Chrome deems unimportant, calling into question the long-term viability of animated Flash display ads. Additionally, it's probable that at least some Flash video containing pre-roll ads will get caught in Chrome's filters as well, changing the dynamic for advertisers in the booming video ad market. So what can advertisers do?  Matt Rednor, founder and CEO of agency Decoded Advertising, told Clickz's Dave Neal and Emily Alford that as far as video is concerned, advertiser efforts should be focused on social: Social platforms, which are where most people are spending their time anyway, are all rolling out video ad units that are more organically incorporated into the experience, and the Chrome extension won't block those. That seems like a sensible approach, but even if Google's update to Chrome [...]

Building a Force.com API Explorer in 30 Lines of Code

{elcr-2} There are several robust and well established API explorers out there (here and in the Force.com IDE), and this is by no means meant to be a replacement or even an alternative. When I start exploring new APIs, I like to have a simple way to invoke methods and get the raw JSON back so that I know exactly what the response looks like and how to handle it in my application. I could use curl or other similar tools, but building an app is also a good exercise to identify the minimalistic code infrastructure required to get the “authenticate > get access token > make API calls” workflow going. It turned out to be very easy to do using the ForceTK library, so I thought I’d share this mini API Explorer here. The 30 Lines of Code var clientId = 'YOUR_CONSUMER_KEY_HERE', loginUrl = 'https://login.salesforce.com/', redirectURI = 'http://localhost:3000/oauthcallback.html', proxyURL = 'http://localhost:3000/proxy/', client = new forcetk.Client(clientId, loginUrl, proxyURL); function loginDialogCallback(response) { if (response && response.access_token) { client.setSessionToken(response.access_token, null, response.instance_url); } else { alert("Authentication Error: No Token"); } } $('#btn-login').click(function() { var url = loginUrl + 'services/oauth2/authorize?display=popup&response_type=token' + '&client_id=' + encodeURIComponent(clientId) + '&redirect_uri='+encodeURIComponent(redirectURI); window.open(url, 'login', 'width=700,height=600'); }); $('#btn-exec').click(function() { client.query($('#query').val(), function (data) { $('#result').html(JSON.stringify(data, undefined, 3)); }, function (error) { alert("Error: " + JSON.stringify(error)); }); return false; }); Code highlights: To login (line 15), open a window with the Salesforce login URI, your client id, and your redirect URI. When the OAuth process completes, your oauth callback page calls the loginDialogCallback() function (line 7) with the access token (more on this below). You pass that information to the ForceTK client (line 9). You can now start executing queries using the ForceTK client’s query() function (line 22). [...]

Why I love the Gov.uk style guide

{elcr-2} It’s easy to navigate Improving the style guide was done by asking users for feedback. You can see a call to action below that is still live on the guide.  Guidance for different content types was something that users requested, so GDS has done that, improving the navigation to help users find what is relevant to them.  It’s not done On the GDS website, it says:  We know this isn’t perfect. We know we have a lot of work to do to add more content, make the navigation better, make it look better. We’re working on it. Meanwhile, the content on it is correct and up to date, so be assured that it is the latest style guidance. Letting people know a style guide is a work in progress is a neat way of reminding the organisation that everyone is invested in the progress of content creation. The org is constantly moving forward. It’s part of a bigger plan Gov.uk has a set of seven design principles, which the style guide sits within. These seven principles are worth investigating, though they’re far enough reaching that I’m not going to do so here.  The important point here is organisational support for a style guide. Gov.uk clearly has a well-defined mode of operation, when using data, when designing services, down to copywriting and the more prosaic parts of a style guide.  If you don’t make sure your style guide has good foundations, it’s easier for it to be put in the long grass. The whole organisation should be aware of your style guide.  Of course, there is tons more to explore in the style guide, so take a look, and start planning your guide. Make 2014 [...]
